edit: small note you’ll still need to login through your original instance if you choose to keep this account. kind of confusing as a user, i know. the fediverse is great but i think the UX, like a lot of open source, is quite lacking.

No it's not. Not if you synthesize them into something new, which is what this comic would have been.
That is exactly what the LLM did, only to a greater extent. This pangolin has never existed anywhere else. It was created based on my specific prompts and my instructions about which styles to draw from. That is the same process humans use when creating images in a particular style. Inspiration is not plagiarism.

It’s not valid criticism. It’s openly hostile insults and trash-talking. No one making these comments is looking to have a constructive dialogue, they’re looking to cause emotional distress. Which is particularly awful given the fucking community we’re in!

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Unless you're claiming that you have no negative impact on the planet, you're just arbitrarily gatekeeping which activities are and aren't allowed.

He made something, posted it for the first time, and the feedback he gets consists of 'You're a horrible person for not doing this the way I think you should'.
