I'm so not getting the joke, I'm wondering if I'm a spoon or a person.

    Maybe you're a spoon—person.

Idk what em dash means. The AI use — this in replies often. So it would be ironic if it is in the phobia name.

It is an em-dash. So it's like George says "That should be techno" and has the random thoughts of "phobia".

And, yep, the LLMs use them incorrectly too. ChatGPT notoriously.

I just learnt the difference, an em-dash is as long as an m and used for other things than the shorter en-dash (as long as an n).

Em-dashes are more common in literature, which a lot of AI is trained on, rather than online speak where it's annoying and difficult to notice the difference between - and — (and not to be confused with –).

            Oh. I get it now.
            Still possibly a spoon, though.

apparently AI often uses the long dash — and people began associating it with AI generated text. which tbf, valid, i only know where it is on my mobile keyboard and i ain't writing anything longer than 3 paragraphs on a phone,

Is it still just a phobia if the AI really is sneaking in every — where?

On Linux you can set a compose key, press it and then do 3 consecutive dashes (---) for an m-dash, and 2 consecutive dashes with a dot at the end (--.) for an n-dash.
