Curious since I found out about NoScript's shady past and Tor comes bundled with it, would it be safer to tweak uBlock Origin for the same purpose of NoScript?

The purpose of tor is to blend in, any customization undermines that. If you are concerned primarily about security over privacy, it's probably better to use a hardened browser and a VPN instead.

I'm not sure what's considered best these days. My privacy v security concern slider has been more on the privacy side in recent years, so I mostly torbrowser.
