Damn, they have some folding bikes on sale for $419. That is shockingly affordable.

Dahon makes good stuff. If you are looking for an affordable folding bike, Zizzo is also a good choice. Tern also makes some more affordably priced folders like the BYB.

Personally, I have a Priority Folder which is more expensive but also has a belt drive and 8 speed IGH: Love it!

I don't need a folder right now, but that's good to know in case I need to hop on a bus with a bike for work 🙂

If that day comes and you've got the money, Bromptons are kind of king there. Otherwise there's knockoffs like Cranston, Takachia, Mint, etc. Those are all trifold bikes, bifolds like the Zizzos, Dahons, etc, ride better but don't fold as small.

We tried Bromptons, but they are a bit too small for my buddies and I. We demoed one and shrieked with laughter as my friend kept hitting the front tire with his toes, his heel on the back rack, and was unable to make it up a steep hill next to the store. His indignation and the dorky high vis vest the store had him wear only made it even more hilarious.

But man, did that bike fold up nice and small. We were impressed by that part!

Yeah, they're really good at that.
