I get so tired of all my text conversations being:
      Me: happy birthday/anniversary
      Friend: thanks
      Fast forward 1 year
      Me: happy birthday/anniversary
      Friend: thanks
      Fast forward 1 year
      Me: happy birthday/anniversary
      Friend: thanks

i guess its a normal part of getting older. connections that were once meaningful lose their meaning when you dont interact or see each other anymore.

sometimes it just means its time to let go. its ok to give them a chance by asking real questions or informing them of something important in your life. but if you can't think of anything, then they can't either and you can save your energy for other people or projects

energy is limited and life goes on. one door closes, another opens. move on.
doesn't mean you cannot welcome them back into your life if they reach out, but yeah, don't waste your energy looking back to much.
