I have a Pixel 7 and haven't really ever noticed issues with my modem. Has it gotten noticeably worse in later models or something?

As far as in later models, no, but there was a noticeable shift in coverage for me going from a Samsung S10 to a Pixel 4a and I dont feel its gotten any better with my current 6a. Its my understanding that the pixels have been using shittier modems

I had a Pixel 3 before the 7, and basically just Nexus phones before that. Sounds like maybe I'm just used to this particular shortcoming of Google's hardware! 😅

I have a 4, 6 and 8 and can honestly say that the 8 is the one that drops WiFi the most

Its possible, it also depends on your location & what carrier you use at that location. entirely possible that you may never notice it. I'm in a densely populated area where I had the chance to notice the difference when I switched due to the high amount of cell towers in the area and how I use my phone when Im out
