The high pitch noises from so many electronic items. Just as an example HP printers have a high pitch whine from their power supplies. I literally can’t be in the room with them. If more noticed less people would buy the garbage.

CRTs used to drive me nuts. No matter where I was in the house, I could always tell if someone was watching TV

That they are not alone. Everyone is having a day just like themselves so being considerate and respectful goes a long way to making it work for everyone.

There are also people that are not like you so you might not understand the behavior of everyone but it could be that that person is struggling the same way you are (when you are) but it might look different.

That no man is an island. And even the things you do "staying in your lane" affect those around you.

I'd also love for people to remember that breaking social contracts used to lead to duels and that's why you saw a dip in violence and breeches. But we stopped doing that and now violence and breeches of social contracts are happening more often.

And lastly I'd like all the people complaining about the biosphere in this thread to remember that they're Debbie Downers and that's why no one invites them to parties.

I'm joking about the last one. I agree with them, I just think the solution is getting off this planet as quickly as possible Oregon Trail style.

Apparently thats because we dont have any natural predators in the air (or at least didnt when we had to worry about that.)

I wonder if drone warfare is going to change that up for us over the generations?

That they're never going to watch the video they're taking on their cell phone at a sporting event, or concert, or political event, or whatever.

And just live in the moment instead.

My family gets upset about that. I nuked my socials back on January 1st 2020. I rarely take any photos. "We want to see the memories!". Well, I'm too busy making them to remember to record them

When I go to an event I give myself 2-3 pictures and then turn my phone off. I do generally end up printing them physically and keeping them.

People rarely notice anything above their eyeline. It has to be directly in front of them or slightly down to be noticed.

Look UP people! There's a whole other world there.

There’s a great puzzle in the otherwise-tepid Chilla’s Art game, “The Radio Station,” that explores this.

I don’t think this is a situation of noticing or not noticing, I’m pretty sure most folks over a certain age literally cannot hear those frequencies. Then there’s the “lucky” ones of us that can still hear every little whine 🙃

Had this problem at highscool, I could tell if the TV mounted in the room ceiling was on even if the screen was black. I had to ask the teachers to turn them off, they'd look at it and say "it is" and then we'd have an argument about not being able to hear anything. Eventually I would prove it by turning away, and having them randomly turn it off and on and I could tell them when it was off vs on.

Very frustrating, but I got old and now I can't hear shit

It's literally not. This is like that stupid thing people say about how if you nod up to someone, you expose your neck and don't see them as a threat.

It's complete nonsense with no real evidence to support it. But people keep spreading it because it seems intuitive.

Driving like a maniac saves you a negligible amount of time but puts others in disproportionate danger.

Yup, I stopped worrying about extra lane changes and pushing the speed limit when I realized that it was literally saving me 1-2 minutes at best. Not worth the risk or the hassle.

"I became my own person" no you fucking didn't, you still hold fundamental biases and function based on things you aren't even aware of.
