On the other hand it's just a good way to get to know your neighbours. I baked too many sweets a while back and shared them around and now they know me better and, I believe, are generally more fond of me. So win win, I get better relations with them and they get sweets :3

You're not alone. I stress binge on melons (or apples, depending on the season), popcorn and miso soup full of leafy veg and rice noodles.

One alternative I’ve suggested is that you can have cookies and snacks, but you have to bake them yourself. Puts some effort and friction on the task.
I'll happily bake 2 dozen cookies today to eat them all in one sitting tomorrow...

I've found a simple fix to this is, when I want to stress eat, just eat more protein. It tends to be delicious and to scratch the "eat lots of food" itch, but is also satiating and not processed junk.

Find something that reduces your stress without increasing weight. There's tons of options ranging from healthy to ridiculously dangerous.

Good idea, bad example considering how much people love to eat raw cookie dough.

I have binged on nuts as well, but some nuts are also very calorie-dense and can cause weight gain too.

I did the same, lost 30 pounds since.
I just don't have the mental strength to avoid snacks when I'm anxious, stressed or depressed. It's the only thing that worked for me.i’m the same way, and after a while i’ve come to appreciate feeling like i don’t need the strength: if i set up my environment properly then eating healthy is one less thing i have to worry about, and i can use the leftover mental strength for other things.

I just don't have the mental strength to avoid snacks when I'm anxious, stressed or depressed. It's the only thing that worked for me.didn't work for me, I'll just drive to the grocery store and buy candy. and then i buy a lot of it because it would be silly to drive there just for the candy.
