It's not even that I really want sports as much as that I get nothing but tech, politics, Star Trek, and memes on here unless I search for it and even then it's not a lot.
used to get sports yeah, not anymore. the starwarstrek stuff too is also blocked for me. that was over the top. I do really appreciate that we have the ability to hide things we don't ever want to see. that gesture alone makes Reddit useless

You are a citizen of the state. You might not be able to do it alone, but it's your mess to fix, when all other means fail (voting, institutions etc).
I do what I can in a deeply red state where putting a democratic anything in your yard or on your car gets you attacked. When the lines are drawn I will probably be in the nearest blue zone which I guarantee will draw troops. Its the plan to occupy the cities and terrorize the populace to violence. Then they are just defending themselves against 'evil' terrorist. Its what they did when George Floyd was killed. They incited the violence and used it as an excuse to injure and kill protesters.

Even as an American and as a supporter of the freedom of these federated model, I have to wonder if there should be a mandated taxonomy. I don’t want to restrict anyone’s freedom of expression, but I want there to be some basic organization such that I can be an informed consumer

Given practically any forward looking or quality of life topic: here it’s dominated by politics, illegal program cuts, incompetent leaders selected only for personal loyalty, breaking it for the sake of breaking it. Can’t we discuss things like adults?

It's like trying to judge the flavor of a sandwich after dipping it in human shit-it mightve been a good or bad sandwich before, but no sandwich is good like this.
As the technologies of control get more sophisticated, you'll find more and more that any attempt to have democracy without metaohorically decapitating those problems just means more resources are turned to those technologies, more of society and its mechanisms seem convoluted and inscrutable.
