Anyone else from Europe feels the same while browsing the "All" feed?

I checked the main default Lemmy UI does not have filters. But my mobile Lemmy client (Eternity) do have.

Well sure. But that’s also because everyone else learned how to use English to communicate. So it FEELS like we’re all American. It’s a common thing in online spaces.
Maar als we allemaal terug zouden gaan naar onze eigen taal, voelt het hier een stuk minder Amerikaans.
I’ve literally had lengthy English conversations with other Dutch people online where we only figured out we were both Dutch twenty comments later

There is something so ironic about this post xD what about the other continents? I have been told they have people with internet access too xD
Well, there are a lot of penguin posts here.

That's not the issue. The issue is stuff like [email protected] which explicitly forbids world politics. It's an US politics only community.

Why do you hate iOS programming language?

The good news is that we are quickly losing global relevance!

I live in western Anatolia and enjoy the Mediterranean climate. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Arabs and Russians. In the eastern part of Turkiye's Mediterranean region, people sometimes take aim at the sun and shoot because of the heat.
Can't blame them!
I've never been to turkey, but have visited some of the Greek Islands very close to turkey and I love the nature there. Generally, I have a weakness for subtropical climates. The pale, brittle mountains and the herbs growing on them and scenting the air. It's awesome. Still hot as hell, but very pretty. The place in the middle east I visited was 99% desert and murderous heat. I think one of the days we had 50C+ heat. It was like breathing in oven heat. 8'D -
why is it decapitated
Trump will probably give Alaska to Putin tomorrow.

Europe is just West Asia peninsula.
wrote last edited by [email protected]Seriously, why are they considered different continents? Let's just be Eurasia. Or Aisurope.

If Europeans really wanted more content on .world, they would stop taking month long beach vacations and spend more of their 10 hours workdays shit posting from the company toilet
10 hours?. it's 8.

South Korea.
Still a democracy. They actually put CEO's in jail there.
-
as a person on a smaller instance, yes i like actually seeing things
You are confusing seeing other instances with "ALL". I just don't want to see what I am not subscribed to. Curation of all this crap just makes it so much better. And focused for that matter.

Sure, but the obsessive focus on econimic growth is directly responsible for their birthrate plummeting to a disasterous level. And well, they may still have a democracy and some CEO's may see jailtime there, but I have personally heard a few too many stories about the rich and powerful over there getting away with shit. Plus the country is pretty much owned and run by Samsung.

Whats wrong with high speed inter city express trains?
I don't get what you mean with the trains. Just a europe reference?

I'd argue these are more unsafe for Americans than Europeans, y'all are the ones having to use the death traps.
Just item #731 on the long list of things that we in the US do objectively worse than the rest of the world, but not badly enough to get into the news or make people want to do anything about it.
Plus, you know, ignorance. If we polled the American public with the question "The US electrical plug design is the best in the world" I think the results would make us all have the same reaction as everything else coming out of the US: Not surprised, but still shocked and disappointed to have the ugly truth confirmed.

Maybe the problem is that in Europe our news are mostly in local languages. So, if I post something I would need to translate. Or one would need to share something from France24 (English), BBC, Euronews (English), etc. But, the content is not as comprehensive as the national newspapers...
