Germany has a track record of not being a reliable European partner when it comes to aerospace, energy, and defense. They'd rather play their own game, give subsidies to Starlink instead of working with European partners, ESA, and cooperate with existing knowledge. Random articles but tldr it's always Germany's economy first thanks to the US [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

So you can not name a problem with Germany in the Ariane program.

Or maybe France should finally develop Guyana so they have a GDP of their own instead of having European partners co-sign the subsidy drip-feed.

That was really horrible of Germany to give more money to the Ariane program, when it was in trouble due to massive technical problems.
