Worked at a gas station, guy walks in and buys some strange combination of Keno (lottery tickets that get drawn every few minutes) tickets. Like a hundred dollars with picking a single number. Not impossible, just odd. Pays with a credit card.

Thought it was strange enough that I wrote down his license plate number as he was walking back to his vehicle. I think I only ever went to such an action this like 2-3 times in the year that I worked there.

Person walks in an hour later asking about someone using a stolen credit card and giving the exact amount of the tickets, we call the cops, they come and I give them the license plate (car was stolen too) and they can now tie multiple things to this person.

This was a long time ago, we did not have cameras that would have picked up license plates at that time, so it was a good catch by me.

My older sister had a boyfriend move in with her shortly after she moved out of my parents’ house. From the first time I met him I had bad vibes.

Fast forward maybe a year or so they were renting a house and adopted a dog together. His “job” was motorcycle racing, so my sister basically just covered all costs. When they broke up, they aligned on who would get what with parents as mediators. He kept the dog, she kept the TV, etc.

He moved out while she was at work and took the TV, but he forgot all his motorcycle gear in one of the closets. So he had to come back with his tail between his legs to get that after stealing from her. She got the dog back at that point.

General scumbag. My intuition had no reason but was right!

Back in 2007, when all my friends were playing Call Of Duty, the Zombie expansion, and chatting on their headsets and all, I mentioned my thought and theory that real life bad actors might be using the same sort of chat to plan real life harmful and deadly events.

My friends thought I was being paranoid, only gamers use that chat. But seriously, when you can more or less freely speak about shooting, bombing, nuking, etc on a gaming platform, you don't think bad actors are also using the same chat to openly make real life plans?

And sure enough, by around 2009 or so, it came out on the news that terrorists had been using those sort of chat channels to make their plans..

I studied the decline of the USSR because I thought maybe America would also be stupid enough to destroy itself…sigh.

Wife told me she was going to re-park the car and I had a vision of her being hit by a small, black, speeding car.

I should have told her "No, I'll do it myself later." I did not.

She was hit by a small, black, speeding car.

Fortunately we had a dashcam which captured the hit, the other car hitting a tree, and everyone jumping out having not been wearing seatbelts, including a mom in the front passenger seat carrying a baby with no car seat.

                The big ones I called...

When facebook first took off, I said "they're going to normalise ending privacy with this aren't they?"

When I saw the images of the planes hitting the twin towers I said "well, ****, there goes our civil liberties"

Sometimes I sound like a conspiracy theorist, I promise I'm really not!

It’s very minor, but when I went to Death Valley, the tour guide talked about how after the hotel was built there the owners of the mining company that had built the hotel had the President of the U.S. visit and pitched donating the land to become a National Park. The guide asked why they would do that and people offered various altruistic reasons about preserving the land, but I said it was because no one else could build a hotel if it was a National Park and then they’d own the only park in what would be a bigger attraction. I was right.

When Facebook first took off, I naively thought that it woukd drive wholesome discourse since your name is attached to public messages. Oh man was I wrong.

Shortly after we were married, my wife's doc told her she would never get pregnant. I had had an unusual dream previous to this statement that had told me otherwise, and shared the details of said vision with my wife, including the gender and general description of what is now our 16 year old son. Every part of that particular dream was spot on, and I just knew it in every fiber of my being.
