Is fediverse turning into reddit?

Ahem, brother.

Lemmy is decentralized and admins of any instance can see upvotes/downvotes and moderate their instance as they want, we are far from reddit where the ceo of the company can decide to censor the whole platform.
I would like to highlight another problem that makes lemmy stink as much as reddit: why are you posting this in the asklemmy sub? Popular content on global frontpage is shit and a bunch of sub are hijacking all the traffic, had you posted this in another sub there would be 5 comments at best.

On Voyager you can set tags on users and add an arbitrary amount of up or downvotes to their account. Looks like another will get the -1000 downvote + twat tag award!

Lmao
"lmao" is offensive >:c

LOL, I don't think the admin is getting the content they expected there

In the current internet it's sadly necessary to enforce very strict rules to keep the space civil. The vast majority of active users are trolls (just look at the success of Toilet Paper's Kirk's campaigns against intellectuals). Keeping bro-culture out is not a bad idea since it's a quite toxic culture often hostile towards women and queer persons.
If you're looking for bro spaces, go somewhere (or create a comm) that's accepting of it. If you like the space, simply follow the rules.
[bro] is when neither friend, buddy, pal, dude, girl, maboy and magirl work because they are too friendly nor you little shit, fuckhead, asshat, dickface and pussy work because they’re too insulting.

Got the same message LOL, I was also one of the down voters.
Had no idea mods can see voting stats.
This mod is weird and creepy for the message alone, stalking down voters WTF? Obviously thin skinned and on a power trip.
The freedom of anyone being able to start their own instance, then get a load of the ones that own their own servers... Some will be assholes on a power trip. It's bound to happen.
I never look at who’s voting on what lol. I don’t care and think that shit’s creepy
-
did you call a trans person bro in a demening context? don't do that please, but otherwise I don't understand why a user reported you for that
I was never in the exchange. I just downvoted. It wasn’t anything like that. Just how people normally use the term.
-
I was banned lol. Oh no! What will I ever do!?

Is this an age and location thing? Because I’m a millennial and Californian as heck and use “bro” “dude” “man” to everybody lol
-
You should link it like this: !maga.place
Edit: Nevermind, that doesn't work. Maybe that's a Lemmy only thing.
That only works for communities.
-
There's always more hentai to block
Lots of botted communities too. I’d rather posts come from real people and my “All” feed not get flooded.

It doesn't work for me (400 error), but it might be defederated?

bro, bro hates the word bro for no reason.
@[email protected] bro, what is wrong with the word bro?

The dorks who were mad at Reddit mods ran over here, became mods and are now being the bullies
Seriously, the amount of mods here power tripping "for the greater good of the world" is ridiculous. Good for their ego, bad for everyone else. But again like someone else said, you can just move somewhere else and avoid shitty moderators easily.
-
Unpopular opinion: y'all call everything you don't like "reddit" (while the average Lemmy user is a lot of what people who don't use either dislike about reddit)
Reddit is lemmy's woke.
-
It's already been a playground for mods with an agenda.
The good thing is that we can all start up alternate communities without the abuse. The problem is that it's rare to find admins/mods that don't abuse their power.
Remember everyone, when this user says "mods with an agenda", he's using a dogwhistle for this.

How do you add up/downvotes to an account in Voyager?

What a thin skinned pussy.
They should go back to being a Reddit and Discord mod
