              For the benefit of anyone who doesn't already know, tsunamis are not surfable waves in any way. Don't be going there expecting a giant Hokusai-style epic wave to ride into the city on.

                1-3m doesn't sound like much until people realize that it's likely to be 1-3m of ocean behind it and not just 1 off wave like what you see on the beach

                  I've been watching it closely, 24" (61cm) waves in Japan, pretty much nothing in Hawaii (flooded parking lot).

                  It could change, but, yeah, not bad so far.

                    For the benefit of anyone who doesn't already know, tsunamis are not surfable waves in any way. Don't be going there expecting a giant Hokusai-style epic wave to ride into the city on.

                    One could literally surf the city, if one were so inclined. Probably get crushed and drowned if you fall off.
