Call it caring fatigue. There are causes that I care about and that I spend my time and energy on. But over the course of 2020-2025, every little thing-of-the-week issue that popped up demanded that I stop buying socks at target, or burritos at chipotle, canned beans or pens or video games or cloud services or t-shirts or shoes or plastic cups or what have you. I just don't have it in me to pretend to care about everything that everybody else cares about all the time. I'm picking my 2-3 things and sticking with them
cool you choose a side of fascist, apartheid and billionaire boot licking. You choose to ignore the sufferings of millions, in your own country and abroad to have a convenient lifestyle. Your kind are the reason why companies and states behave like this, because they know you are addicted to be a consumer.

I could probably find a thousand things you spend your money on that hurt people in some way, but I'm not going to hold you to that insane standard because I don't believe in ideological purity tests

if you get someone else to switch then that counts too
This year presents a big opportunity for many of us to get user friendly Linux distros on family members’ PCs that are currently running win10 and not able to upgrade to 11.
I’m already a Linux Mint fan so that’s right where I’m headed.

I mainly game on Xbox but run Linux exclusively on my PC. I am considering cancelling my Xbox Gamepass Ultimate sub but my kids also use it. That's a tough one.
This is the same for me. I might have to move my kid's console to PS5 and use their Game Pass equivalent.

The more reason to get a Steam Deck.

No one expect a person to fully avoid every unethical product, most of companies, research, technology is built to kill people at first. However, people should at least try, giving up is basically aiding companies to fund more killing.

I'm not giving up, I'm just going to focus on the issues that are personally important to me

Probably not the best advice considering the current economic situation but you could cut your losses and restart on Steam. Buy the games there and your kids can probably still do what they did on Xbox. You probably already know this but Steam has a Big Picture Mode which makes it more controller friendly and nicer for large TV displays. Keep a keyboard and mouse handy for when things need technical support.

why commenting then ! if you are not interested in the cause against genocide then just keep quite instead of being irrelevant.

So we're only allowed to agree with things now?
