What client do you use for Lemmy?

Honesty, I am tired of accidentally hitting "back" on my phone and having my feed reset, so I was wondering if any of your clients didn't do that, while also wanting to check out the competition for Sync.
Tor Browser

Boost works pretty well on my phone.

Eternity
Isn't Eternity stalled?

+1 for Voyager. It's my first and so far only client that I've used, having been on infinity for reddit before switching.
I like it. it's smooth, works well, and has fairly granular settings for how to handle "read" posts, gesture controls within posts / comments, and so on.

No love for Summit here? I've tried almost every android app and ended up with this one. Very smooth UI and full of features.
I swapped from Sync to Summit and have been loving it. The dev's super responsive too, which is a big plus.

Connect looks awesome, but I can't for the life of me find a feed for only my subbed communities, Do you know if that is an option?
It's the Frontpage feeding on the sidebar.

It’s how crazy a good UI never gets old. I was using Apollo, now Voyager. Holy cow. It’s been so long I feel old.

do you have issues with redgifs? they don't work for me on Voyager

The dev being alone does not mean they should make it closed source.
For example, Mindustry, which is an open source game, is only developed by one person, Anuke.
And, who knows tf they doing behind the scenes?
That's why i HATE anything closed-source. Making a software open-source does not have any downsides, it's free contributions from more experienced people. And it also means people can fork your project if you just can't do it anymore. Or want to improve it.

Voyager
Has sync been updated lately? I left sync because the dev fell off the face of the earth or so it seems but I really miss the long hold to view images.
Nope, still on the March 26th, 2024 version. It works for me though.

Firefox
The less apps I have on my phone the better and I mostly browse Lemmy on desktop anyway.

That dev is a traitor.

Jerboa gives you a confirmation prompt before exiting, when you press back from the main feed.

I don't have issues with redgifs. I thought I recalled a setting similar to media player defaults but I can't find it, so I must've been thinking of infinity for reddit.
does it have anything to do with default browser, I wonder? I'm on grapheneOS with vanadium as my browser.

Mlem, and I love it.
I second that! It’s great. I tried a few different ones at the start, then tried Mlem and never looked back.
