Common mistake. That stands for "mac and cheese and cheese" which is just mac with extra cheese.

There’s ATMs and there are ATM machines and you don’t want to get the two mixed up

Oh yeah the Access To Money machines that you see at sketchy convenience stores and whatnot usually have bizarrely high fees

Whereas Automated Teller Machines operated by established financial institutions are a little more trustworthy and reasonable

(I'm only a little bit joking)

Yeah, nobody would say the words of an acronym, like PIN number or ATM machine!

          (you are correct)

Thank you for acknowledging my (fairly manageable) pain

I bet that's also a correct order, they just double the cheese.

It's Mac and cheese, but through sheer awesome coincidence it's also the correct acronym.

It's yara (yet another recursive acronym), not to be confused with the malware testing suit/programming language YARA (which stands for Yet Another Recursive Acronym)

Time to start a social media controversy where we argue about whether it's mac. or m.a.c.. It'll be lemmy's written version of the gif controversy. I'll make a masto poll when I get home. done.

Mac is just a synonym for "good European food Amerikanized into cheap junk with chemicals."

Imagine! Why would one eat "Mac" when you can have pasta with sauce Mornay?

The singular is macaron or macaronus. The plural is macaroni, like viri.

Next time you order Mac and cheese, say it right 😉
