        You mean tectonic?

        No. The shelves represent color banding of minerals that shift with tectonic activity... in other words, this is a side view of one fault, which may or may not be at the edge of a tectonic plate.

          Yes these shelves are very good friends.

          As far as plates are concerned I'm not sure where you're seeing those.
