Low strength are somewhat frequent in the area, but often anecdotal. I usually vacation in the area, and they often just involve broken glassware that falls from shelves. A few larger ones have happened, but often the casualties are in the tens or less.

I slept through one a few years ago.

I wasn't sure if people would immediately recognize Almería to be in Spain, as it is a city with about 200k inhabitants.

I'd argue it be clearer between round brackets instead of behind a comma like states in the U.S.:

              Paris (France) over Paris, France.

There's probably 2-3 Paris in the US.

Same thing happens with Latin America and Spain. There's maybe an Almería in America.

Paris is in Texas too, so for some Texans 'going to Paris' will refer to that one instead.

There’s a Paris, TX, Paris, TN, probably tons more, that could make local news confusing.
