Ever think of the inconsistency of airlines weighing luggage?

counterpoint, fat shaming exists and is just as prevalent (probably more so) than heigh shaming. Another note: The countries with the highest amount of obesity are also the countries with the least amount of regulation and taxes on food processing. Just the same how the countries with the highest rates of drug problems are the ones who don't focus on rehabilitation and prevention as much as criminalization.
Look, most people know that eating 50 burgers isn't healthy, so stop putting the blame on others.
-
I don't shame addicts or small or large people either. I only shame those, who find it funny to shame others.
That's good, I don't either, although people might claim otherwise.

Another point I want to make is that body positivity is evil. Telling obese people they are healthy and should feel good about it should be a crime. Are these body positivity people going to cheer on someones first diabetic amputation?
-
They are, because they are allowed to bring less total weight onto the plane. (71kg vs 124kg)
Nope, they're allowed to bring as much luggage weight as the others. Total weight doesn't matter in that regard. Just like how small people are allowed to bring the same as tall people.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]You genuinely think that a majority of obese people are obese because they eat large amounts of food at a time, and not due to the large amounts of trans-fats, sodium and corn syrup used in processed foods? Sounds to me like you've never been poor honestly. Never been in a country where natural food is expensive and hard to come by. Consider yourself blessed and keep being ignorant if you so please.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]No need to get emotional and personal. I would love to see a source on how vegetables are more expensive than junk food and I'll gladly change my mind.
Edit: Alternatively you can just downvote my comments and leave. That'll show me.

Total weight doesn't matter when talking about total weight? What?

Obesity is a curable disease that people are self responsible for. Drug addicts are shamed and no one cares. Even peoples height (which they have zero control over) is shamed and no one bats an eye. Im not saying you should be rude to overweight people, but there are ridiculous double standards.
Drug addicts are shamed and no one cares
Many people care, and why would that make it okay?

It's for the safety of the people handling the luggage, not for the weight of the plane

wrote on last edited by [email protected]I never said it made it okay. What you are doing is straw man rhetoric, a manipulative strategy to discredit someone.
Sowas muss doch nicht sein.

However, I'll entertain your "BUT- BUY SOURCE? SOURCE ? PEER-REVIEWD SOURCE PL0X" since you clearly don't know how to use a search engine.

Over the three years since 2019, the cost of food and drinks has escalated, particularly in the most recent year, with the prices of healthy foods and drinks increasing at almost double the rate of increase in prices of unhealthy items.
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/12/27/healthy-foods-are-often-more-expensive-heres-why.html
“The data very clearly says, there is this fixed high cost for fresh fruit and vegetable, which is not there for other products,” Thijs Van Rens, one of the authors of the Warwick study told CNBC
https://extension.usu.edu/nutrition/research/does-healthy-eating-cost-more
A recent study found that following the MyPlate Dietary Guidelines would cost a family of four between $1,000-$1,200 a month ($12,000.00-$14,400 annually) depending on the age of the family members and the percentage of fruits and vegetables that were fresh, frozen, and canned (Mulik & Haynes-Maslow, 2017). For a comparison, the average middle income family in the United States spends roughly $6,224 on food each year with the average low income family spending even less at roughly $3,862 per year (USDA, 2017). With this information in mind, following these recommendations may not be feasible for the typical family.
And just for good measure let's throw it back to you. I would love to see a source on how junk food is more expensive than vegetables in countries where obesity is an epidemic. That means no countries that actually tax processed foods to make the healthier option more affordable.
Edit: and you think Im not going to go out and find the sources? Dumbass.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]No one is eating a banana as a main course. You are purposefully making false equivalences. Not to Mention the fact bananas are 54c per lb. You just took the lowest number you saw to get an "Own".
Here's Ramen for 50 cents. Something that is eaten as an actual main course across hundreds of American colleges.

or just drive instead, and bring as much luggage as you want. without paying extra. on your own schedule. and not inhaling 50-100 people and their kids' disgusting plague germs.
god, fuck literally everything about flying

Downvoted for AI slop
It isn't "slop". This image is magnitude more quality than most people are able to draw.

It's not about how much weight the plane carries so much as flight attendants doing overhead lifting and the risk of one falling out of the overhead locker. Source, I'm on the internet and you read it
Actually it's about charging people extra as often as you can.

We are talking about luggage weight. Pretty interesting how you ignore the rest of my post, it's pretty telling.
