Yeah I quit a while back. I thought it would be harder, I had several old accounts, moderated a couple of small subs, had loads of karma, spent at least an hour a day being active on there. I realised all that shit was sunk cost fallacy and I'm glad I finally left.

Moderators on reddit don't have "cronies" they are largely shut-ins, single, lonely people who are terminally online and have one of two overarching axioms that they follow.

1. They believe themselves to be arbiters of truth, noble positions in society doing the most sacred of duties by banning people for saying something that could be, possibly, maybe misconstrued as offensive or against that community's agenda.

2. They believe nothing, they are there for fun because it's fun to ban people and then make fun of them and insult them.
