, just put up bird feeder, i was using binoculars to watch them tho, since i placed it on the other side of the yard above the compost pile, so dropped seeds get composted right awayMy problem is the seed shells. I have to take a shop vac to the ground cover or it dies from lack of sun.

My problem is the seed shells. I have to take a shop vac to the ground cover or it dies from lack of sun.
You could put some sort of tall flowering thing under it, like irises, daisies, daffodils, etc. that come back every year from a bulb. Seed shells don’t matter if you can’t see them, they just break down into fertile soil for the flowers

It be like that. Just wait until you get into hummingbird feeders. Those little crackheads are difficult to lure in, but once you get em with that sweet nectar they are yours forever
