What's your favorite rye?

Oh wow, such an enlightened response. Buds fuck off with the childhood taste shit.
wrote last edited by [email protected]Oh nice, someone that can't even comprehend the obvious metaphor I was using to show how stupid your response was. Guess it wasn't just the response.
I'll make it dumber for you: If someone asks for a cola recommendation, and you waltz in and say you like ginger ale... People are going to call you out, just like they did here.

wrote last edited by [email protected]Rye and scotch are closer in taste profile than coke and orange. Which is why i called it a chidlike taste profile.
I'll make it easier for you. You got upset because I wasn't exclusively talking about rye and that hurts your pedantic brain.

First, because we wouldn't want you getting confused and thinking you properly comprehend what someone wrote to you for once, no one here is upset. I'm just pointing out why what you said was stupid.
I'm laughing AT you because of this wounded pride lashing out you're doing. Not upset, amused.

I would suspect that I pissed in your alts cornflakes the way you are speaking.
Edit: I don't see you targeting the people talking about flour.

OMG I thought you meant bread flour.
I am usually a bourbon girl.
But Redwood Empire Emerald Giant is my favorite rye, so good for the price, gorgeous bottle label and not well known; and the cocktails community here at lemmy.world might also enjoy discussing this.
Even a step farther
- Russian black rye
- no wait, Founders red rye ipa
- darn, whiskey?

Sourdough Rye for me, hands down. With onions or olives or the caraway seeds or just the rye. I make it with about 35-40% whole rye flour and the rest bread flour and it's so good!
That would be excellent

If you’re drinking scotch you’re drinking whisky not whiskey.

I love rye whiskey and want to buy a really great bottle of it for special occasions. I've had Angel's Envy rye and loved it, but want to know of others that I haven't tried/maybe lesser known. Since it's for special occasions, $100-$200 price range is fine.
My favorite rye is by Rocker. They are in Colorado, and do not distribute nationally, unfortunately. The distiller is going for a niche, local market, he tells me.
Anyhow, all other rye whiskeys taste ‘thin’ in comparison. Super rich and super sippable.

High West Double Rye is really good for the price.

Lot 40, because it's Canadian. It's also 100% rye, no corn.

I'm not getting continuous notifications about people making idiotic digging themselves deeper comments talking about flour.
Now you're concocting stupid conspiracy theories about alts? Just admit to yourself you were wrong and go away. This salving your ego is getting pathetic.

You haven't engaged them in this thread at all. Go harass them chuckles. You just didn't like my calzone comment.

I might just need a road trip! I'm in NM, so it's a pretty easy drive.

Go-tos when out and about are Michter's and Templeton. A bit harder to find is Alley 6 and Redwood Empire.
Slowly working through bottles picked up on trips. San Diego Distillery and Woodinville near Seattle. There are a lot of good, local ones.
At home, it's good old Bulleit.

Whatever Boas drinks in the old mill would be my recommendation

Yeah, their tasting room is a nice hangout in a nice area with other stuff in walking distance.
Weird hours, so be aure to check.

The regular Lot 40 is good, but I recently tried the Dark Oak for the first time and I really liked it. If you like bourbon, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
