Is there an actor you can't stand? Do they have any exceptions?

For example, I don't like Will Ferrell in his typical roles. Oh they just drive me batty.
But. I do love Stranger Than Fiction. It's such a cozy movie.
Owen Wilson. He has one tone and always looks spaced out.
-
James Corden
This is the first one I agree with.
Everything I hear about him manages to make me hate him even more than I already did. On top of all of that he can't act.

I will never understand the accolades. His movies aren't funny, his schtick is old after like 30 seconds and Annie Hall was fucking dull as shit.
Having grown up through the 80s I hate them. Shit like his nonsense is one of the many reasons why.
I was told Annie Hall was his best. I got to the scene in the movie theater line and turned it off. His jokes are so obvious that I think his fans feel smart predicting what's going to happen next.

That's sad. I'm a single dad who has maybe shouldered more than my share, to put it a little mildly, so it resonates. The optimist in me hopes there's more to the story or that the kid is an unredeemable psychopath.
At 6, it's practically a guarantee. All kids are psychopaths until about 10.
My cousin once stabbed me in the leg with a pair of scissors and thought it was hilarious.

His real life is so much creepier than his acting.
You mean fucking and latter marrying the barely legal adopted daughter of his long time girlfriend. Yeah way worse than his movies.
-
Minecraft movie would have been so much better without Jack Black.
The Minecraft movie was terrible though. Swapping him out with a different actor wouldn't have helped.
It was a huge movie and the whole thing looked like they had a budget of about $20 and about $19 went on the set so they had to get the script written by somebody they hired of fiver

I can only stand him as Smithy.
That's because he plays a bumbling idiot very well.
-
I like watching Walton Goggins in some roles, but the man himself gives me the stranger danger willies in interviews, etc.

Vin Diesel. Nothing against the guy personally, but his whole dumb guy thing just irks me.

John C Riley is an uncomfortable mess in everything he's in and I cannot stand it. The exception is everything he's in, which is delightfully uncomfortable.

Chicago is my favorite of his

Hollywood is starting to make me dislike Pedro Pascal only because he's in EVERY DAMN THING.
I actually like the guy, but overexposure is a thing. And he could stand to just chill for a little while.
I don’t mind since he’s such a good person in real life, but I see how overexposure can be a problem

I absolutely agree with you about Stranger Than Fiction. Mine would be Adam Sandler, do not like that style of comedy. The only exception is Punch Drunk Love. One of my favourite movies! Also Jim Carey, except for Yes Men.
Before now I was the only person I know who likes that movie.

Leo DiCaprio. No exceptions. The movies he's been in that I've enjoyed were enjoyed despite him and not because of him.
His entire approach to a character is to put on an over-the-top accent and call it a day. I've never had the sense that any of his characters were the actual character and weren't just "Leo with an accent". I'll be fair and say that he has improved in recent years, with movies like The Revenant being tolerable.
But holy shit, how his career went anywhere when people saw his "acting" in Titanic and especially Romeo and Juliet, is mind-boggling to me.

Ben Stiller. I just can't get into anything he's in. He's just reading lines, nepo-baby for sure.
Exceptions: dodgeball, and tropic thunder, holy FUCK is he funny in tropic thunder
If those are your exceptions, strongly recommend Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Gorgeous scenery and a shot at stiller acting

Have you seen The Basketball Diaries?

Bautista was great and honestly showed more range than anyone else. Yeah, it was comical and a little extreme, but it worked.
the interviews hes done, he actually works on his acting, and takes tips from others.

Had to look it up, but yep, that's certainly him alright.

Most movies I’ve seen him in he’s done a good job, playing someone comical in the MCU films or someone more serious like in Blade Runner 2049. I don’t think he gets taken seriously because he’s a wrestler, but he's got a long filmography.
