Just me and my wife, I usually cook because I am by far the better cook. I cooked a lot growing up and did it professionally for years, she barely ever cooked at home until she moved in with me. I love her, but she has no sense of culinary coherence, she just kinda throws things that she likes into the pan without any consideration of how the flavors work together.

I'm fine with doing the cooking because I can just slip into the groove, and she doesn't mind it either.

I cook 95 percent of the time. Husband can reheat or heat up a frozen thing, but not cook very well. Twin cooks dinner on Friday but sometimes just gets fast food for us. We also order more than we should. But if someone is cooking is probably me. And if it's baking its 100 percent me. Twin fucked up box brownies once and won't do more than boxes ever again.

I cook, my husband cleans up after. Because I am a good cook but not so good at cleaning. I do clean as I go, don't explode the kitchen or anything but there is always more and he does that.

If the kids (teen and 20 are the ones still at home) don't want what I make, they make their own food. All the kids cook better than my husband does - I remember when we were dating, his teenager asked if I could make mashed potatoes from potatoes for his birthday. But he got an Italian girlfriend and learned to cook too.

If I work late, I ask my husband to get us takeout and he does. On the odd occasion he cooks, I or the kids clean up.

I think it's around a 80/20 split between me and my gf. I just really like to cook.

My wife and I take turns cooking. We typically plan everything out at the start of the week so can shift to one of us doing multiple nights in a row if need be. We started having whoever doesn't cook doing the cleaning, but my wife refuses to do basic cleanup as she goes so now whoever cooks also cleans up.

I'm (m) gluten free and my wife is vegetarian so we often just cook for ourselves. When both of us eat one thing, I cook probably 70% of the time. I'm the better cook.

Although we do have specific roles. I make all of the popcorn she makes all of the smoothies.

I do all the cooking, he doesn't know how to prepare anything more complicated than sandwiches

Over winter when I'm home from work early and not doing 60 hours/week its split about 50/50. over summer I'll maybe cook once or twice a week.

When will the kids start to pull their weight in the kitchen?

I cook, I don't mind it. Wife doesn't like to. She does other things I prefer not to. A balance if you will.

Depends on the night. When it is me I do some simple sautéed vegetables, a rice, and protein (tofu or meat). Sometimes I branch out and do pasta or casseroles.

Same here but reversed. I hate cooking, they love it. So I'm on dishes, it evens out.

I work from home, and unless things are going a little crazy I do most of the cooking. Occasionally my wife will cover a lunch or breakfast or maybe even a dinner if things are crazy but it's probably one out of 10 times max.

She's pretty big into pre-packaged or just making a sandwich, I'll break out the baking soda flour and sugar and make pancakes, or if I think about it a couple hours early I'll make pizza dough or something I don't usually plan much past that. If I am using something pre-packaged I'll usually go out of my way to do something interesting with it. Make a buffalo sauce toss the nuggets in it throw them over a bag salad.

I cook about 1/3 of the time my wife about a 1/3 of the time and both of us together about 1/3 of the time. We are both very good cooks but have different strengths.

I'm better when I plan ahead equilibrium brines, sousvide, smoking, Indian currie etc. She can look at what's in the fridge and whip up something good at short notice.

Together is usually each of us working on a different dish or me doing Mise en place for her.

Mostly I do the cooking because I love it, I am very fast doing it, I am very good at it and I like us to have healthy food in the house. He does some specific dishes that I don’t feel like doing. I made the rule of whoever does the cooking, also cleans up. It is strange at first glance, but I clean while I cook, so I don’t have to clean a bunch of stuff at the end. And he is a messy cook. So I don’t get in the kitchen while he cooks, otherwise I would get mad with the lack of efficiency.

And he loves my food much more than I do. It is a pleasure to see him enjoy what I cook.

Mostly my mother and I. It's almost certain my dad will complain about cooking taking more than 5 minutes and only sometimes helps ( only if my mom gets him to do it ). And my brother sometimes does it and sometimes helps, but more often than not I don't need his help.

I personally don't mind it since I don't hate doing it. And it's a pretty good life skill to have in general. None of us are professional chefs, but I imagine my mom and I could definitely outcook the average family in America anymore. Cooking is a dying art because of a combination of lack of convenience, laziness, grocery prices going up, and impatience, I swear.

                                      Same for us.
She hates cooking and it looks like a bomb went off when she's done. I hate doing laundry and it looks like a toddler folded the clothes when I'm done.
Cooking and cleaning probably takes more time per day, but we're both happy.

A win/win that has never been explicitly agreed to, just happened naturally.

My wife mostly because she doesn’t work full time and she’s an incredible cook. When she doesn’t want to then I usually grill up something.
