Greenland visit cancelled after locals refuse to welcome Usha Vance
-
Diplomatically, this is as good as it gets, unfortunately.
IDK. They could have used Vance to reenact the well scene from 300.
-
I hope it really is cancelled
-
Yeah, I goofed. You're right.
All good. I'm sure they do something in even a semiofficial capacity, but yeah I couldn't tell ya.
-
Sorry, I think this was a mistake.
I think it would have been better for one household to welcome them warmly, say they were proud to have them in their home.
And when they showed up, sat down, had tea, had 100 greenlanders in with literal torches and pitchforks come in screaming obscenities of every kind and demanding they leave while streaming the whole thing.

Tipper Gore did some pretty stupid stuff... Thanks for the Parental Advisory labels on all those albums, Heckuva Job Tipper.
So that's where those came from. Though to be fair, she and the PMRC did that before Gore's first term.
-
You don’t invite foreign invaders, you shoot them between the eyes. See Ukraine.
Glad they got the hint.
-
Pika pika!

THIS! IS! GREENLAND!!!

This is the first time I'm learning about the USA's second lady and I did NOT expect her to be a DEI hire /j
-
what the fuck did they expect? a welcoming party to rival none other? With drumpf constantly going on about how he's gonna take greenland? JFC. Fucking morons.

Guaranteed to make every album cover go harder AND signal to every kid which albums to look into.

I mean, it is a free world, and - unlike Trumpster - they do no discriminate. However, they are not required to treat them differently from any other person in the world, so they didn't.
-
"I want your land. Now welcome me like a hero"
nobody want to welcome you
Who would've have thought.
Who would’ve have thought.
me. I would've have thought. I totally would've have.
-
bummer. i was kinda hoping to see them actually denied entry.
IMO this is way better. Being denied would have given them a great opportunity to complain about "the Danish government suppressing the will of the Greenlandic people to join the US". The fact that they can come but noone there likes them is so much more devastating for their narrative.
-
No visas are needed between Europe and USA. EU will very soon begin an ESTA-like scheme, but that's not in effect yet. And, since Greenland is not in EU, probably it won't come into effect either.
Vance could therefore simply appear at the border and the one individual border guard is then alone responsible for deciding whether to allow or refuse entry for USA's vice president.

I guess you could say their wives took the jobs American women didn't want to do.

You don't think diplomatic immunity would apply? I'm sure the secret service would just sit there while a hundred people swarm. Enjoy your fantasy, but that would never happen irl.

"... has just been REVOKED!" and then they shoot her in the head.
