Doesn't arguing with ChatGPT sound like an immense waste of time?

Now I so want to vibe code a wrapper for deepseek that's just an ascii cat that lives in your terminal and refuses to engage on your terms but keeps begging for treats and swatting at your cursor. The only output it generates are hallucinated "cat facts"

Wouldn't this just be a very simple bash script and a large selection of ASCII cats?

Could be, but all I know about bash is that it's what I did to my brain 6 or so times and now I'm vibe coding cause i can't learn new things unless they remind me of when i was 11 and having a religious experience because I finally got the damned r36h to connect to ssh and compile hello world. Ideally the script would have a single set of ascii cat animation loops that would be able to interact with the terminal text, climbing, laying on, pouncing, ascii ball of yarn etc. Then you would have a wrapper for a chatbot could be deepseek, just needs to be able to make up things about cats and roleplay in text as a cat. So maybe you could have a command, say caterm, that runs the cat but also you can give it prompts, caterm feed treat and the cat maybe does an eating animation or maybe refuses the food or knocks it over. But sometimes if you get complex with the prompts it starts talking to you son of Sam style and makes up cat facts that aren't true just an infinite amount of batshit things about cats. And once I get it working how I like it, I'll release it without documenting the functionality well and watch what unfolds. Maybe only I find that funny but it makes me smile

Chatgpt is an amazing tool IF you know a bit about what you are looking for. I have more than once argued with chatgpt because I knew it was giving me wrong info. Use it like you would use google translate. If you nothing about it assume it's wrong

Alternatively, if you know little to nothing about what you’re looking for.

Huh. Every time I ask Cat a question, they just reply with 'give me more food'. I don't think it can be trusted...

I guess another option is to use AI to generate the responses in bulk ahead of time and then save it in a file for PHP to load, cheaper web hosting as it doesn't need to start running AI models on the fly.

Shame I am behind nat444 which as far as I can tell makes hosting stuff a pain, some configurations of VPN should also work for it but its extra effort I just can't be bothered with to deploy CatSeek.

Right I also thought of running a local paired down deepseek model or pregenerating. Honestly for a silly thing like this I want to keep the footprint as low as possible. And currently I would have to host a local model on a literal potato in the form of an rpi3b+ running omv6 and docker and let me tell you that is even more sluggish than you'd imagine. I have a few bucks of api left though and could craft a roleplay persona with rules for all the cat text and also fake facts. Had gemini flash make a little animated ascii cat script in python last night and it could take some time but I think I could finesse a few loops that way though I wonder if I shouldn't do the ascii by hand just to save the headaches of prompting to align things correctly and such. Also got to figure out how to make it live in the terminal without displacing the normal text and allow it to seem to interact with what is there. I'll keep picking at it. It's kindof the side thing I'm working on when I run out of daily gemini cli quota. We will see how it goes

Well yes, the thing is I needed a list of all NIST80053 families, controls and improvements in a specific format. It was easier to make chatgpt get the correct info than to format it myself lol

                                Chat in french is cat.

                                G sounds like j'ai (I have)

                                PT sounds like (pété) farted.

The french media had trouble with that one when chatgpt 3 came around.

coincidentally one of the most foul-smelling farts I have ever encountered was from my cat
