I don’t know why not being lied to in the room at the WH would be a big loss for their reporting. Maybe just investigate and cover what they’re doing and tell folks that?
Because by the time they can get their part of the store out to show the lies and do fact checking, there's 6 more bullshit stores of misinformation out there they they need to rush to catch up on.

Also they are usually the source of a lot of downstream sites, since they're doing actual journalism.
They cannot do that If they are not there.

Perhaps instead of finding and breaking fresh news they can add fresh perspectives to existing news stories? God knows folks need more than just the info blasted at them - they need to be reminded that there are other ways of interpreting events than what they are given.
