So it got public (or something) that a larger personality did go after a trans person and the bsky moderation team looked over it and decided to change the tos for them instead of a ban what would be appropriate as they threatened another user.

It seems like people who become victims of their harassment have actively engaged with them at some point, and continue to feed them rather than ignore them. Which leads to things getting worse, and eventually things like death threats.

Tech should be made more accesible. Having the fediverse is nice and all, but if someone was to ask me "i don't like reddit, what do you recommend?" I can't even introduce them to how lemmy instances work without some eyebrows being raised let alone the whole concept of the fediverse.

Why does kiwifarms seem to come up lately in places I would not expect. It seems like people who become victims of their harassment have actively engaged with them at some point, and continue to feed them rather than ignore them. Which leads to things getting worse, and eventually things like death threats.
Online harassers, if you ignore them, try harder until you cannot. They're no ordinary trolls.

Its a new dogwhistleThe waffles thing is because Jesse Singal keeps referencing a tweet that says something to the effect of "people take someone saying 'I like pancakes' to mean 'I hate waffles'", which, yeah, if you're saying "I like straight white Christian men" you're probably saying you hate at least some other groups but anyway that's where the dog whistle came from.
