Personally I've stopped listening to what he and his boss says. They way they have been blurbing random things out and pulling them back when the dumbster isnon fire, makes it very hard to take any of it seriously.

Bush could have done it without the UK and Poland. Not that their support didn't matter at all, but I don't think they could have prevented that war.
Sanctions against the US could have been a good idea, except it basically would have meant destroying NATO.

The subtext to "don't be vassals" is a hearty "fuck off". And that's basically all he meant to say, I suspect. And tbh, I am starting to question whether his advice of forging a European path is actually good, after hearing it from this guy. Otoh, there is an angle from which European armament could be profitable to him, and that is US arms sales.
