So the people is power are not really poor more often they are even richer and more powerful than rich people in countries with working governments/economies.
And the poor people are really fucked. So in essence what you are advocating for is not even collective punishment because the people responsible are not punished.

Looking at the voter map, I'm not sure I can feel a lot of sympathy, to be honest. It would seem to me that the people made their own bed and now have to lie in it. And much like all other ultra conservative wins in other countries in last decade - the rhetoric of "strong man" seems to be popular, especially in rural, poor areas.

Yes I agree, but we can't improve things if all we care about is "look at these dumb peasants and the dumb mistakes they are making. They deserve to suffer for their mistakes".
