Finished chapter 11 of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
::: spoiler Chapter 11 story spoiler
They tried to redeem him! I knew they would! He killed last of the species, this is the super-villain stuff. Maybe I am too old for these things...
:::Played more Marvel's Midnight Suns and Ghost of Tsushima, but nothing new to add about either of them.
Also, just got my switch 2, so will be trying out Mario Kart World over the weekend.
What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?
wrote on last edited by [email protected]I spent my time once again with Xenoblade X. Currently preparing for Chapter 9, Lv 67 and 33% of Mira done.
::: spoiler More details
I wanted to prepare for Lao's death and do all his Heart-to-hearts. This meant some grinding to bring up his affinity.Went to FN 406 and fought some Puges until I dropped a Phoenix, got level 50 along the way.
Afterwards I placed a lot of the remaining probes to grind money with and then focused on side quests.
Now I'm sitting in my Lv 50 Skell with a Phoenix weapon and will probably complete Chapter 9 and then max out all classes by fighting Joker.

I don’t know if I’ll be playing anything this weekend; we’re days away from my yearly board game convention, Dice Tower East! For five days next week, I’ll be checking board games out of their library, learning dozens of new (to me) rule sets, and easing my ten-year-old into his first gaming convention experience. If I get a chance, I’ll play my favorite game Fog of Love, but I’d need a babysitter to pull that one off.
If I manage to play something besides Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent, I’ll let y'all know.

I’m shoulders deep in my Slay the Spire addiction again. Highly recommended if you’re into difficult strategy games
Slay the Spire is pretty great. I am not a big roguelike fans, only finished it with the first character, which unlocks the second character, but I can see how it can get addicting, if you don't mind the mechanics.

:::Wow, nice. I had to do some grinding but I have just crossed Level 50, should be around 52-53.
::: spoiler About the spoilery part
Didn't know about Lao, so he is now the only character I couldn't get to Max level. Fortunately I did get his affinity to max.

Nice. Have never been to a board game convention. Sounds fun!

It took me a bit to get into it, but it's so addicting once you get a run going. Defect is by far my favorite, but each of them make the game a completely different experience

The Mummy Demastered has been on my wishlist, so sad to hear about the issues.
It's not a horrible game or anything, but there's so many amazing metroidvanias nowadays that it's hard to think of reasons to recommend it over other options.
Momodora sounds good, but aren’t there like tons of Momodora games?
Not really, when people talk about Momodora they're usually talking about this game and the previous one, Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight.
There's three more games, but they're are simpler, very short games (1-2h) from early in the developer's career, with the first two being free on Itch.
Well, The Mummy Demastered is a small game, so may end up playing it anyway.
About Momodora, looked it up on Wikipedia, and Reverie Under the Moon is the perquel, but the Moonlit Farewell is the final game in the series and is sequel to the third game. Should I play rest of them too? I think I started the first one long time ago.

I can give you more short (~5h or so) metroidvania recommendations if you're interested in that kind of game.
Should I play rest of them too?
I only played the last two Momodoras and didn't feel the need to go back to the older ones for the rest of the story. I'd suggest playing Reverie first anyway since it's a prequel and generally seen as the best one.

Something about channeling like 50 lightning strikes from a single skill just feels right
