Do you name your cars, if so what have you named them?
-
My first car, my lovely Mazda 2. It was tiny but perfect for me. My friends called it a jellybean and that stuck until Bean just started being used. I loved that Bean so much.
But I just got a new car and a friend of mine said it looks like a shoe. So now I have Shoe! Which I think is funny
when my first car dies I'm gonna be devastated. I love it so much >~<

Because I am a human that pack bonds with everything I see
I think I'm particularly susceptible to pack bond with stupid stuff. I have pack bonded with a damn computer mouse at one point.
it's the little things that make me happy.

The naming scheme we followed, is based on the first letter of the car's brand—so for example, a Volvo gets a name starting with 'V', like Vincent.
Anyone else done/do this? If so, what was your car + name + naming scheme?
Meet: Blooregard "Bloo" Q. Kazoo (from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends).
I even have Bloo stickers.

James. No particular reason.
My other cars never had names, but I love this one to pieces and it goes like the clappers.

Only one of my cars has earned a name, otherwise its just "that shitbox"or "the daily"
My blue VW Golf project car I'm always tweaking, modifying and breaking because I'm not a mechanic, thus it often forgets how to car, and it has black and yellow accents. So it's been christened "Dory"

Is that with the Dual Clutch? If so, you could probably just get a new clutch if it's in good shape.
wrote on last edited by [email protected]I did get a new clutch. It was a bad deal that turned out good.
Someone traded in the car with worn out clutches and 10k miles past the extended warranty. The clitches gave out on me only 2 days after I bought it, so the dealership replaced the clutches at no additional charge. I looked up how it should be driven, followed Ford's advice, and it's been driving great ever since

"car"
which inevitably becomes "piece of shit"

I named my Mustang Sally.

TIL: people name their cars. Honest question, unless you have several identical cars, why?
Ita just a nice guesture i think, like its something used everyday to get you from A to B. The car is a part of the family too, so it deserves a name

So are shoes
I think I only genuinely liked one, maybe two cars I ever owned. Typically it's just a necessary part of life and a massive waste of money, but it is exciting when it's new.

I just use the name they were given at the factory to avoid confusing them.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]I don’t, but others do. Mine is 35 years old and has 1.3 millions kms. It’s a beautiful silver coupé - with 101 defects and constantly on the verge of collapse, but already been taking me places for over 10 years now. Sometimes even for 1K Kms/day. I’m the 8th owner. Somebody called it “Gattone” (Italian for “big cat”). I wanted to “recycle” those 2 Tons of iron that already ferried tons of people probably, and keep it on the road for ever. Friends love it, average girls here don’t
they just call it “il rottame” (“the wreck”)

wrote on last edited by [email protected]I don't but I have a dear friend who named his cars with things like "Captain stingray" for a Blue chevrolet he had, "Annoyed mother" for his mom's van, "Stinky Pete" for his dad's Cadillac (he was a heavy smoker)
He named my first car "lil' bit" since it was an old vw bug.Now he drives an electric Mustang called "The beast". Oh! He also owns a boat now named "Pretty Betty"
