Seriously someone here merely asked why people didn't like Nazis here and he had a dozen down votes before the first comment even came in. It's clearly just a trigger for some people.
I'm not saying AI is a bad as Nazis, although a lot of it's proponents are, but maybe you can see how people might have a visceral reaction to it and not want to "discuss it's merits".

At the rate it's going to will result in the death of at least as many people. Stop your pearl clutching, and read my actual statement, or get offended and ignore what I'm saying, doesn't matter to me. Once again, a reactionist who doesn't know that things like AlphaFold, AI assisted malignant tumor scanning and a few other very beneficial technologies are also AI. Technologies that are not slop, or "A human would do better" scenarios but true breakthroughs.

You know full well that's not what people are talking about when they are pushing AI currently. There are plenty of great tools that have been around for awhile, but these bullshit chatbots that are wasting resources are not useful tools.
