I like the idea of an electric folding bike that isn't 60 lbs, but single speed and integrated battery pack makes it less desirable.

You joke but people definitely do put their folding bikes in bags to bring into stores that are shitty about it or to travel on planes. Bromptons are kinda famous for this.

i would also like to know bc i dropped about that price on a lightly used Unio E20 to be able to take on Amtak and now I'm wondering how badly i fucked up by not getting a feather...

edit: turns out i didn't fuck up! the feather only has about half the range and i can just make it to the Amtrak station with the Unio's range

Heh, I was about to say, the E20 looks significantly more capable.

          The obvious snag:

the battery offers a range of up to 24.8 miles under ideal conditions

I can think of how they can get the weight down even further!

But otherwise looks great. My own 38 kg monster is looking more obese than ever.

I've got a bag for my Tern folding bike, but it's a PITA because the bike folds like a book (so it's wide). Plus, it's got 20" wheels. A Brompton would be easy to fold up and carry around in a bag.

Bromptons and Birdies are great at that. I've got a Priority Folder (similar to the Tern) and pretty much just fold it up under my desk at work. One of these days I'd like to get a Brompton C-line but they're stupid expensive.

It really would be nice if Brompton came out with a sub-$1000 bike. Not only would they reclaim market share in this space, but those riders would very likely upgrade to the more expensive models down the line.
