Is the conversation not happening right here and now?
You have been given an offer to speak and it feels a bit like you are shutting it down yourself. It feels like you are concerned that it will not go over well.

I believe that trans people have a right to live and thrive, just as anyone does. To me the question feels like "should we let people with brown hair exist?" "All those brownies are trying to make us all have brown hair!"
