Trump urges Americans to work harder despite spending 22% of term golfing
-
I thought the amount of time he golfs would be higher. Every time he golfs we pay the taco when he stays at his properties.
I would argue that it's actually FAR better for USA and the world, that he golf as much as possible.
He doesn't fuck as much stuff up when he's elsewhere amused...... -
Incentivize it, you living malediction. Expand healthcare to allow more hours, increase overtime pay, make it easier to start a business, personally turn a few billionaires into pulp within a massive stadium housing solely seats, cameras, screens, a long spool of rope, and a single woodchipper. Frankly, these aren’t big asks.
For real. You'd think the black hole of failure that Drumph and his billionaire cabinet are, would be the death knell for the fucking prosperity bible. Woodchip them all !!

I think one of those industrial grinders that grind up engines and stuff would be even better. Just run it at extra slow speed as you lower them in.
Run some salt rocks through first, so the blades are nice and blunt, chipped and salty. Salt because we don't want to wait for them to get rusty.....
-
Frankly, I'd really rather that the Irish Star not encourage him to be spending more time making policy.
Exactly this. It's better for the world if he plays golf more.....
-
No, I don’t think so.
Biden golfed a total of nine times.
Obama spent 3% of his time golfing.
Trump, 22-25%, depending on the source.
This is crazy shit, a dictator stating people should work harder while spending 1/4th of his time on the course. The presidency isn’f supposed to get weekends off.
It's also the fact that Drumph whined incessantly about Obama playing golf, and vowed that he himself would be working too hard to ever play golf.....
Ironically though, we are all better off the more Drumph golfs rather than "works"...... -
Agreed, but the person I'm responding to made a point about weeks vs. weekends.
Yes I suppose, just like anything, a nuance here would be whether or not we expect a person of such political authority to be able to have weekends at all.
On one hand, they're still a person working a job and no one should be working 365 days a year
On the other, the societal cost, in terms of income tax covering travel and security costs, of having a President that travels every weekend is a bit much.If the President was only golfing on the weekends, and wasn't charging the government to golf at his own clubs, then this whole thing of him taking leisure every weekend would be a harder thing to argue against without getting into that whole administration work life balance discussion.

I had a pre-MAGA family member say to me "holidays are for Christians, you should have to work!" This is the level of intellect that will control our lives for the foreseeable future.
wrote on last edited by [email protected]It's a distinct lack of understanding given that Jews also have a sabbath day and so does Islam (sorta, it's a day of increased prayer but not literally a day of res) literally every Abrahamic religion I can think of has a sabbath.

I'd recommend Thomas Piketty's 'Capital in the 21st Century' if you're into the deep economics side of all this. Its a bit dense, but really hammers home the point that the period from ~1940 - 1980 in the US was the ONLY period where wealth inequality was declining and therefore it was easier for people to believe that we lived in a meritocracy of some kind where 'adding value' at work actually did lead to added wages. That period has ended, and now inequality and trickle-up economics are reaching all time highs, with no apparent limit in sight.

Honestly he should golf more
With the amount he plays golf, you'd think he'd be better at it, but apparently he's a chronic cheat at that as well.

Americans should definitely take Voting Day off, to maybe vote.
ahaha... good one.
Maybe they will go vote if they get a free burger with fries.

I keep seeing Ed's site posted everywhere and we need to promote the HELL out of him!!! It seems he is the only person actually making sense today. I send his articles to everyone I know and urge them to read it.
