The problem is around 12 years ago we ran out of important things to code, and we had too many damn coders, both experienced and in the pipeline.Telling them all to go home, or heaven forbid recode all the important stuff defensively to this time include security from the get-go would have lead to riots and mass unemployment.
So from the biggest conglomerate to the smallest non-profit, we code shit that users neither want or need lest the whole system collapses.
