This is also my guess. Nintendo knows the demand, they'll do $499.99 for the launch model and release a cheaper "lite" version like the original Switch in 2 years at $350 or $400 or something.

This claim is dubious. Several publishers have already announced Switch 2 games.

Agreed, but it is pretty important news for our hobby, and third party titles are tied up in its marketing campaign.
Also you can hate Nintendo while still enjoying some of their exclusive games like Zelda and Mario.
