      I suggest that "EU" starts an union owned company for manufacturing/fabrication of advanced semiconductors. Current market situation implies that this industry isn't suitable for the private sector. I.e. because of risk, investment and margins. A public monopoly is better than a private monopoly. That's also why the US Government should buy the fab part of Intel.
