What's the Holy Grail item in your hobby?

The true Holy Grail item in my hobby of motorcycle riding would be a MotoGP bike.
Realistically the achievable halo option is a 1000cc supersport and lots of track days.

I dream of one day finding an original Model M keyboard in a Goodwill or yard sale for like $10. Every time I'm in a thrift store I look over the electronics section JUST in case.
Also waiting for the day I find a random copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Sega Saturn. Only 20,000 north American copies were made, which sounds like a lot but in video game numbers is insanely low. I've only ever seen it in the real world once at a gaming convention and it sold for $1,500.
If you want the model M just for it's feel you should check out Unicomp keyboards. They make modernized versions that feel identical according to a friend who uses one. Although they are way more expensive than 10 dollars.

I had no idea California had so many native species. Those golden look wild!
They don't, they're sub-variants of the same 3 species. This is like calling Deschutes River Redsides something separate that any other Rainbow Trout.
Golden Trout are definitely special. I remember celebrating when I caught that 6 in fish on a tiny #18 mosquito.

That looks strangely like a long range rifle that c would be well served putting up a prepared defence or neutralising an unsuspecting target. Neither of which are aligned with home defence.
For home defence I want a shotgun. High lethality that doesn't go bouncing down the road looking for another victim.

Now kiss! Seriously, though, what an awesome project. Clone Hero taken to all new levels.

I understand most of the individual words in your explanation, but it doesn't really tell me what the point is. About all I got from it is people writing back and forth to each other, and since you mentioned 'otaku', probably a Japanese fandom thing?
I could google for 'exchange diary otaku' and maybe find a better explanation, but tbh I'm not that invested.
Underground Japanese idols and their fans. It's a whole scene. Look up groups like KissBee, AIBECK, 100-YOKAI, etc.

EDIT: looks like it's possible! Imma dive off the deep end!

KissBee
First hit, confusingly, is this:
Further down I see a group of girls -- Japanese pop music? That would have been more informative than 'idols'.

As a hobby engineer/machinist I would say any "medium" sized mill but specifically Bridgeport mills are especially coveted by hobbyists.
If I found a reasonably priced Bridgeport even one that needed a bit of work, I would happily sell my Chinese machine and make some extra room in my workshop.

I don’t play drum/guitar mania, but the support is all there (albeit the guitar hero/taiko modes are all recently added so they’re not nearly as mature as dance/pump/technomotion, etc.

In the world of synthesisers, I’m going to say the Yamaha CS-80. Anyone who was introduced to synthesised music by listening to the Blade Runner soundtrack will recognise it. With its many tactile modulation options, it’s arguably the pinnacle of the synth as a performance instrument.
I'd like a prophet 5 or minimood model d.

My hobby is (or rather was) collecting Seiko watches.
I stopped buying watches, but my holy Grail would be "The" Pogue. The original 6139-6005 yellow face automatic chronograph worn by Col. William Pogue on the Skylab mission.
Other than the NASA issued Omegas, this was his personal watch that he just took with him into space, as NASA didn't want the Astronauts to take their Speedmasters home and so they couldn't train as much with them.
This also was the first automatic chronograph in space, as no one had tried before if they would work without gravity (surprise, they did, as momentum is still very much a thing in space).
Here is a very nice write up by a very knowledgeable guy:

Mmm love a good space watch. Personal grail for me would be an Omega Skywalker X-33.

wrote last edited by [email protected]Why use a gun chambered in 6.5cm, 308win, 300wm, or 338lapua for home defense, unless you mean defense of your large estate and need long range? Shotguns are long and unwieldy. I'd go for hand guns with rounds that distort when they hit something so there is less chance of penetration and continuing on. Most likely 22lr or 9mm. 22 has less stopping power, but usually more capacity.
