Those motherfuckers can be huge, too. The building where I work has a kestrel nest on the roof. Last week, there was drama when some seagulls showed up and were apparently trying to kidnap and eat the kestrels' young ones.
I straight up witnessed a city seagull kill and eat an adult pigeon whole. It was pretty quick and wild to see.

I live in the French equivalent of NYC rat wise and trust me, either my cat or I get rid of the pests quickly.
If you have no empathy for animals just trying to do their thing, that is a good indicator that you'll lack empathy for people as well.

Yup. We have had two sets of ratties live with us. After the second set died a few days apart I swore off any more. When their needs are met they are loving, and care for each other, and us, without reward.
