        Yes, but correlation is not causation.

        I believe it's more due to overexposure to the concept. Knowing that you can deep fry the big bad evil guy in a fucking tanning bed kind of de-escalates the threat level.

                  The Count was actually pretty scary [for a kids show] in the early years. They toned him down later, but in 1972 he was still frightening for kids.
