Want to leave Reddit, but content is SEVERLY LACKING on Lemmy, and the thing that keeps me away from Lemmy is
- The people , who thinks Linux is god and anyone says anything else is pure evil/villain and act accordingly here in comments EVERYWHWRE
- same as above
- I can't figure out what are Lemmy sub parts and how to access them, till date I have I access to part of Lemmy shown to me via BOOST app, but apart from that I don't know

Is anyone here so hardcore that they don't even bother with mainstream social media? If its not on Lemmy or Mastodon it must not be important? Anyone that hardcore?
I am so hardcore. Like Quickdraw McGraw. Fuck what you heard, you ain't heard this before.

Lemmy is my only social media at this point. I have a few other sites I look at for information but they are tech sites. The tech sites I look at are not mainstream anymore either.

Never considered it hardcore but yes Lemmy is my only social media unless you count youtube.

I use Discord and Lemmy, no Reddit outside of reading threads on how to do something in a game

I got banned on reddit for not caving up with my subreddits and moved here permanently. I left a long time before they banned me, but came back to check on the state of my stuff from time to time. And now I refuse to open any link pointing to reddit.

Lemmy is the only "social media" (is it even considered social media?) that I have an account with.
I do lurk reddit's front page, but only because stuff gets posted there faster.

The dream is to be off them completely, but I view (but do not engage with) a weekly top posts of a few reddit communities at the end of the week. YouTube has its claws in me and I look forward to trading that out.

I'm enjoying Bluesky too, but yeah, reddit sucks so much since the API changes. When was that?
I don't even remember anymore.
Look, we debated all this a decade ago. Can venture funded social media stay good? Now we know! Back then, the alternatives were more difficult to find and use. Lemmy and mastodon are here, and they're so easy. It's great. Keep building.

Don't miss being banned from Reddit, don't need the social media aspect.
I do still scroll trough some subs bcs they have interesting ones which don't exist here or have little content since Lemmy is tiny.
It will get better when it grows but at the same time worse since governments don't like uncontroled social media and there will be influence if it reaches a substantial audience.
As they did with Facebook, Reddit and others. -

Until Lemmy can offer me the active specialized subs I use reddit for, it's pretty hard to drop it completely.

Lemmy vs reddit I am 95%. I only go back to reddit for live episode discussions for Saturday Night Live or if it shows up in search results for something I need to know.

I still have a reddit account for viewing links. But I haven't posted in a long time.
