We once were served a salad in Greece that had an octopus tentacle stuck out of the top as a centerpiece. Not alive, but hey. Nobody fancied the tentacle and we all just ate around it.....

            I'm totally down with croutons.

Food isn't only about taste. Good food has differences in feel and bite that give your mouth something fun to do, and makes it interesting, and texturally varied.

Good food is a multisensory experience.

But what about all those people who apparently don't have any teeth?

I was thinking croutons aren't that hard but then I remembered restaurant croutons or even pizza place croutons.

Walnuts and hazelnuts taste loads better after soaking them in water overnight. I never realized how disgustingly dry they usually are until I tried this method.

Have you ever had fresh walnuts? You can peal off the skin, which is the bitter part. The off-white inside is quite sweet. They have to be quite fresh - once they dry out a bit they’re unpealable (that isn’t a word according to my spellcheck, but screw that guy, I’m making it a word).
