Doesn't it depend on the ritual?
The corner in which you're starting and ending should have a meaning and should set the subconscious for the ritual as symbol.At least that's the idea, as far as I've understood it

…and does no one go counterclockwise? I would have guessed it was less common and biased towards lefties, but there most be someone, right?
…also, whoever did 13542 is fired.
I've never really thought about it that hard, but I have noticed that a lot of times I have trouble getting the star to fit the spot I intended and it winds up being squished and/or lopsided. I've always used 13524, but 52413 makes a lot of sense for solving that issue.
