The most correct version is not even an option? Is obvious that a pretzel would use them as in 2, but instead of two stupid pants is only have one where each lower "curve" are the foots.

Yeah, exactly!!

Number 1. Number 2 is upside down so it’s really just two hats. Number 3 would be like buttless chaps.
Number 2 is not upside down. There seems to be no real consensus on what is "up" for a pretzel, but one alleged origin indicates that the pretzel was shaped after praying hands in the middle ages, which would mean 2 is right side up. Also, when they are made in a bakery, due to how the technique is done, they are placed like in 2, and that direction is also reflected on some more traditional bakery signs.

This sounds like a fabrication straight from Big Pretzel. What are you going to claim next, that pretzel sticks don’t have a right side up either?

upside down
I could be wrong, but given that the original pretzel shape was meant to represent someone with hands clasped in prayer, I think you might be wrong there

Big Pretzel is probably way to busy keeping the tasty European baked goods away from the Americans instead of spending time on proper Pretzel rotation. Also, every kid knows that pretzel sticks have a top and bottom, don't be ridiculous!
