What are kids playing today? What came after Minecraft/Roblox?

I feel like I haven't heard anything from younger genz about games outside of 'streamer screamer' game of the week.
Is there anything really new and unique?

As a 30 y/o myself, it feels like they’re still playing those games from 4 years ago: Minecraft, Fortnite, Roblox, Brawlstars. But they watch much, MUCH more AI Slob

As a parent I can confirm this is true. Lots of AI slop. But probably even more weird, random, quick-fire meme shorts. Although those two categories are rapidly bleeding together into one massive clusterfuck.
My oldest frequently says "gen alpha is so cooked!" due to all the meme and AI slop. Which considering he is gen alpha is both insightful and disturbing.

My son plays Fortnite in addition to the other two. I don't know of any other games that offer the wide choice and peer interaction that Minecraft, Fortnite and Roblox offer.
He mainly watches streamers who play those games

I don't know, but my kid won't be playing Roblox. That game has as many groomers and pedophiles as the Catholic Church.

Tangential point: these games always felt like Legos but without the complexity involved with rotating and making things fit IRL, so I'd rather get my kids Legos. I guess these games are free for anyone who knows how to use a PC/their children, so it's way more accessible, but Insha'Allah I'll be financially blessed enough to buy the real deal.
