Donald J Trump hasn't anal probed me, or harvested my organs, or put me into a slave labor camp on Omnicron Persei 5.

    Yet.

Did the leaders suffer? Was it recorded? A lot of us would pay to watch that.

Read the 2nd book. It was fine, there's some really silly dallying going on with the main character through the whole first half. And the Tri-solarans can't seem to figure out how powerful or helpless they are to kill him.

I think the most interesting thing I took away was that feeling people in other countries get when they read books written from an American perspective. The books got a real "Chinese Exeptionalism" vibe. I have now witnessed how annoying that is

Humans then explain the aliens their situation on earth

The aliens: "Holy Viltrum… listen humans… we were actually gonna take over your and enslave you but it seems like you went through worse than we did…"

are there any stories (real/fictional) where a relatively brutal invader was less brutal than the people they ousted and somehow they are considered liberating heroes, and the public is ok with their repressive policies because they are better than before. and the leader is trying to keep the evil lotd vibes going on but he's beloved by the public.

feel like it would make for great comedy.

I was really referring to the first book, in which a character invites the Trisolarians to conquer Earth because she’s pissed off at her own government.

And in fact, killing all the hyper-authoritarians (or at least all of that kind of authoritarian-the irredeemable monster kind) and dismantling everything they built is the best way to stop that.

In theory yes, the problem is you can't identify them all ahead of time

Also, your false positive rate will make you a monster too

And focusing on family lines instead of malicious ambition will mean you'll kill a lot of people who opposed their own evil family members as collateral damage, people who might even be the best allies you could have to spot others with malicious intent because they've seen it up close

                    can't idemtify them all

Kill all the slave owners, all the ss men or party members. You'll get close enough. And their families.

                    make you a monster too

My great great great great grandmother passed down a story about how she hid a bunch of family money from the union army and used her children to do it. She, and every single one of those children, should have been gutted. If the whole war were fought like that: e reconstruction would not have been rolled back. We would not have got the nazis. We certainly wouldn't have trump. Would've been worth it.

Im not talking about hunting down a psychological tendency. Im talking about people who join the atrocity party and self identify. There will always be shitty people. You don't need to kill every shitty person. You need to kill every monster who participates in atrocities and imo thwir entire family, barring those who disowned them before it was 'cool' (so like that one cousin of trump's, musk's daughter. Visible or verifiable opposition before their failure was certain) And any oskar schindler types. I'd argue still sterilize them.

Point is; they weren't hiding. You kill all the white people the freed people from that plantation said lived in the big house, and every white man with callouses from holding a whip (plus its family) and every csa officer. You grab every man in an SS uniform and kill it, it's wife, its mistress, its spawn, it's siblings, and its parents. Would also have stopped business school from becoming a thing

And yoy know, if someone who used to live in tbat big house ran off to join the union army on day one and took as many slaves as the plantation had horses with them, and the family spits their name, maybe im not talking about that person? I mean hanging more thwn a hundred or so guys at the very tip top of nazi high command and not checking for ss tattoos and just shooting qnybody who had one, or looking up the nazi party's donor list and making sure every address on it is cleared and clean.

                    collateral damage

Not as much as leaving them alive does literally everu single fucking time holy fuck look up the years of lead and tell me that was worty it. Live through the next five years and find the death camp i die at and scream that at the mass grave they dump me in.

Edit: fuck you very much for letting the fuckers who are going to murder me live. This is why everyone hates libs.

                    focusing on family lines

It's about identity and persevution complexes, not to stop every possible person being shitty. Im not for killing people to stop being shitty. I'm for ending fascism slavery etc. Genuinely ending it. You know we still have slavery here, right? That it never really wemt away? Is the reason our emtire apparatus of state power is structured like that?

                    people who might be

Im okay with that, and if youre strict, id probably get caught in that. But I'm really not expecting to see the end of this. I'm going to die in the camps. The onsa thay wouldn't exist if we had killed every last member of every slave owning family in the confederacy, or every single SS man and its family after worls war 2.

There is a sci fi series called the Damned Trilogy where warring space aliens stumble across humans and one faction enlists them because they are the most terrifyingly violent species they have ever stumbled upon.

There's a I guess you could call niche? trope? in some fantasy anime/manga where the protagonist is actively trying to be a villain but is constantly being misunderstood by the people as being some sort of saint.

I can think of two different ones from the top of my head, one called "I'm the Evil Lord from an Intergalactic Empire" and another called "The Mistaken Saintly Life of a Villainous Scion", the former fitting closer to what you asked for than the latter. Note, however, that I am not recommending either of them. The former is entertaining enough and I haven't read the manga to give an opinion on it, but the anime isn't that big of a deal imo, whereas the latter is just straight up trash.

Sorry, didn't realize how vague the comment was. I wish someone would turn it into a movie or miniseries. It's still one of my favorite scifi book series.
