Not to split heirs, but "long after" in this case is ~12 seconds, IIRC โ€” which is still gruesome AF, but worth being scientifically accurate, I feel. โœŠ๐Ÿผ

I am very much in favor of splitting heirs.

There are accounts of severed heads being fully functional for seconds after the beheading, presumably because there is still blood getting to the brain for a very short period of time. Eyes moving, blinking, even talking.

It's pretty gruesome stuff, and I sure as hell don't want to watch a gore video to see it for myself.

Yes, and "12" is well within "several", so ๐Ÿค“

Now, as far as "talking"? That requires aspiration, IIRC, and separating the larynx from the lungs kinda, ya know, stops that, pretty effectively. ๐Ÿ˜…

in the historic account, the guys eyes were clearly moving in reaction to the doctor's voice

one other time I remember that someone described the persons head as stuck in a scream but no sound came out
