all would be monsters need to know that you will still hear and see for long after your head is separated from your neck
this is the punishment for the crimes against humanity

Not to split heirs, but "long after" in this case is ~12 seconds, IIRC โ which is still gruesome AF, but worth being scientifically accurate, I feel.

There are accounts of severed heads being fully functional for seconds after the beheading, presumably because there is still blood getting to the brain for a very short period of time. Eyes moving, blinking, even talking.
It's pretty gruesome stuff, and I sure as hell don't want to watch a gore video to see it for myself.

Now, as far as "talking"? That requires aspiration, IIRC, and separating the larynx from the lungs kinda, ya know, stops that, pretty effectively.

wonder if they could still move their eyes and mouth for as long as there was oxygen left in the blood

in the historic account, the guys eyes were clearly moving in reaction to the doctor's voice
one other time I remember that someone described the persons head as stuck in a scream but no sound came out
